First, because it's summer and hot, and beer is cool and refreshing, I give you: the Hoegaarden White slush puppy. Otherwise known as "what you get when you put a beer bottle in the freezer compartment after coming back from the shop so that it will cool down to drinking temperature faster, then forget about it due to Interesting Things on ScienceBlogs".
Finally, moving on to my other concern of the moment (apart from manuscript writing, lab consulting, apartment emptying, transatlantic real estate prospecting and, incidentally, blogging)... my computer has a bug.
Quite literally. Click on the image to see the full scale version of this closeup picture of my laptop monitor, then look at the little oblong black speck cruising off the northwestern shore of New Zealand. That's a bug. It's not ON the screen, it's BEHIND it. At the moment it's alive and well, scurrying about a bit crazily but otherwise apparently unharmed. I wonder how long it's going to stay alive; and when its time comes I hope it'll retire quietly into the sides and not stay stuck in the middle. I hate dead pixels (and assimilated).
